An alpine hut in the valley.
Our cosy quaint inn, nesting in the middle of Bohinjska Bistrica, surrounded by picturesque mountains, is a wonderful place to eat and drink at any time of day. It’s just as popular with locals as it is with visitors to the area because it feels like home away from home. Designed to feel like an Alpine hut, with traditional furnishings and rustic décor, it is made to pamper our guests with excellent traditional food, typical of this region. A short coffee break, a full meal or a glass of beer from the local brewery – all this awaits you here. Visit us as guests and return as friends!

Food
Good food is what counts here. We are sure our traditional dishes will please all taste buds. Try our local specialty – a type of “žganci” (spoonbread made of local type of corn called turščca) that come with curdled milk, jacket potato with curd cheese, homemade cold meat and cheese platters… And for dessert treat yourself with our delicious strudel, which we are famous for.

What makes this inn so great is that it is managed by locals who grew up in the area and are passionate about using ingredients that are right on their doorstep. So fresh ingredients and traditional recipes are a guarantee for good food. Enjoy our traditional local food! Try out the delicious stews, homemade cold meat and cheese platters, homemade bread, the plate of the house, several types of “žganci” (spoonbread) with cracknels, sauerkraut, or curdled milk. You just must try our strudel for dessert. To that you can add various dumplings, kaiserschmarren or pancakes.

Our Alpine Hut in the valley, The inn and apartments Štrud’l Bohinj, are located in the centre of Bohinjska Bistrica, next to the roundabout, where you turn right for Lake Bohinj and left for Tolmin (coming from the direction of Bled).
